On 14 April 2011 I participated, with a one-and-a-half-hour talk given in Spanish, in the Third Bob Dylan Cycle organised by the Colegio Mayor Hernando Colón of the University of Seville, Spain. This highly successful series, now in its third year and running this year to seven lectures, is organised by Mario Ríos Espinosa, of the college. I spoke on: “DON JUAN WAS TALKING TO DON MIGUEL”: PRESENCIAS HISPANAS EN LA OBRA DE BOB DYLAN (Hispanic themes in the work of Bob Dylan). The main aspects were the influence of the poetry of Federico García Lorca and the analysis of several of Dylan’s Mexican-themed songs. It was a most enjoyable event, and I recommend this cycle to any Dylan admirer conversant with Spanish, the ‘loving tongue’!

En el 14 de abril de 2011, participé, con una conferencia de hora y media dictada en lengua castellana, en el III Ciclo de Bob Dylan, organizado por el Colegio Mayor Hernando Colón de la Universidad de Sevilla. Esta muy exitosa serie, que ya está en su tercer año, abarcando en esta edición un total de siete conferencias, está organizada por Mario Ríos Espinosa, del Colegio Mayor. Hablé en el tema: “DON JUAN WAS TALKING TO DON MIGUEL”: PRESENCIAS HISPANAS EN LA OBRA DE BOB DYLAN. Los principales aspectos tratados fueron la influencia de la poesía de Federico García Lorca y el análisis de determinadas canciones dylanianas ubicadas en México. Fue un evento más que agradable, y ¡le recomendaría el ciclo a cualquier admirador de Dylan que domine esa ‘loving tongue’ que es el idioma español!
