prestigious newspapers, featured in its cultural supplement ("Ñ") a long
article on Bob Dylan, complete with front-page photograph. The text, by
living myth: the Dylan legend attacks again’) is available at:
http://www.clarin.com/suplementos/cultura/2006/08/19/u-01254919.htm
**
It is a high-quality article, slanted of course to the impending appearance
of Dylan’s new album MODERN TIMES (worldwide release date: 29 August), but
also recalling the songwriter’s status as permanent Nobel Prize nominee.
**
I am pleased to add that in the course of his text and in support of the
Nobel nomination, Fondebrider quotes extensively from an article of my own,
namely my report on the Dylan colloquium held at Caen University, France,
in March 2005 (available in English at:
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/6752/caen/index.html), and, in particular,
my remarks on Professor Gordon Ball’s contribution on ‘Dylan and the
Nobel’.
**
The author also describes Dylan’s work as ‘un género en sí mismo’ (‘a genre
in itself’), and suggests that there exists ‘un Bob Dylan a la medida de
cada cual’ (‘a Bob Dylan made to measure for everybody’) – two very fertile
observations which fall at the right time for all those eagerly awaiting
MODERN TIMES!

http://www.clarin.com/suplementos/cultura/2006/08/19/u-01254919.htm

Gordon Ball, ‘Dylan and the
Nobel’.
**
