PHOTOS: LISBON LAUNCH OF ‘IN DIALOGUE WITH SARAMAGO’, WITH THE AUTHOR – 13 Nov 06

13 November 2006 saw the highly successful Portuguese launch of the collective volume
IN DIALOGUE WITH SARAMAGO, at which José
Saramago himself was present. The launch was previewed
on this blog on 18 October 2006; for details of the book,
see entries for 26 July and 25 April 2006, and for an account of the British launch in Manchester,
see 30 May entry.
The Portuguese event took place at the FLAD (Luso-American Development Foundation), 21 rua do
Sacramento à Lapa, Lisbon. The main introductory speech was by Dr Ana Paula Arnaut
of the University of Coimbra. Saramago’s own speech evoked, inter alia, his newly
published autobiographical volume As Pequenas Memórias.
